E.'s Elf Dances

We received an extraordinarily cute CG dance routine from our friends, the Lavins. Since it produced too much laughter, we thought we'd share it. This version features E. times four. (Our favorite is the second from the right.)

And here is the three of us, by request.

A couple weeks ago C. and Baby E. went to Greeley "on business". The family accountant has recommended C. come to Greeley once a month for awhile to help things run more smoothly as she keeps the books long distance. Of course, C.'s all too happy to oblige and get the opportunity to see everyone in Greeley, even though leaving J. makes her cry buckets of tears. J. bears the separation as manfully as he can, and gets by instituting some of his old bachelorish habits - (like eating lasagna for breakfast). He's the most capital husband there ever was. Anyway, here are some photos of our visit. (p.s. We did get to see Uncle Andrew and Uncle Rex during our visit by E.'s silly mother didn't have her camera with her. Never leave home without your camera!)

Smiles in the Sink

Our big little baby has outgrown his baby bath. We put him in the sink the other night and he was thrilled to pieces. Just couldn't stop looking a me and smiling this smile of wonder as if to ask "Is this really where we take baths?"
He really couldn't stop smiling (kind-of a whoa!-I-just-got-water-in-my-face-smile here)
Nope. Just couldn't stop.

Sepia-fied Autumn

Here are three pictures of the Baby in J.'s hat. The shadows across his face were too intense to make the color pictures any good, so we sepia-fied them. It seemed like shame to sepia-fy beautiful fall colors, but the effect turned out kind-of neat. Which do you like best - #1, #2, or #3?

Grandpa & Grandma Come to Iowa

Last weekend Steve and Jo Ellen drove down to spend a couple days with us. It was such a treat to see them, and we had a wonderful time together. Elias basked in the extra, often hilarious, and undivided attention. There's nothing like Grandparents for reinforcing a baby's idea he's the center of the universe. Here's a peak at all the fun we had.

Rare Occurances

It's not everyday we get a picture of the family. But it happened last week when Steve and Jo Ellen came all the way to Iowa City just to be our photographers.

After that other strange and unusual things started to happen. Like a picture of J. and C. together! Wow. This one is in sepia because J's wife's face looked like a makeover by Plaster of Paris next to J.'s handsome olivish complexion.
And another rarity: a picture of Mommy with Baby.

(C. really tried to milk this "I- got-all-ready-and-everything-day" for all it was worth.)

Elias' FAVORITE Stuffed Animal

It's a little early to be declaring favorites, especially when they're just at the "getting to know you" stage. However, seeing as E.'s Aunt M. actually predestinated this little monkey be E.'s Favorite Stuffed Animal, it's pretty much a shoe-in for the little monkey.

What a Wonderful World

A couple weeks ago when the weather was fair we took a walk and sat on some grass.

It was Elias' first time to sit on grass without a blanket under him.He was enthralled with the wonder of it all.

It really is wonderful stuff.
See the little slide show for more pictures. It's sort-a-kind-a-cute reminder
that it truly is a "wonderful world".

Eli on Outings

Here's a conglomeration of pictures we've taken of E. while on some strolls over the last three or so weeks. E. loves to go on stroller rides, and we usually take the camera along since the natural light tends to make nice pictures. They're in chronological order, so you'll see he keeps growing, and that we've transitioned from hot days, to having to bundle up a bit, and back to a little more summerish weather.

My Travel Adventures: The Pictures

Here is a little show from the trips we were blessed to get to sneak in last August to see family in both Indiana and Colorado before school started. It was so wonderful to be with everyone! God is so good!

Six-Months-Old

I'm six-months-old! How funny is that! Ha.

I dressed up for the occasion. Looking pretty grown-up, yes?

And tried to sit up for you all, too! Whoa.
Yep, this growing up stuff is pretty great.

Sweet Sleeper, Sweet Sleep

My son, let them not depart from your eyes --
Keep sound wisdom and discretion;
So they will be life to your soul
And grace to your neck.
Then you will walk safely in your way,
And your foot will not stumble.
When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
Proverbs 3:21-24

Happy Grandparent's Day!

It's Grandparent's day - a perfect day, created by the thoughtful people in the greeting-card industry, to tell my grandparents how thankful I am they're mine!
I'm so blessed to have such great grandparents
who are so nice to me and love me quite a bit, too!
I love you, Grandma Jo!

I love you, Grandpa!

I love you, Papa!

And, I love you, Nana!

Here's little Happy Grandparent's Day Slide Show of some recent, mostly silly pictures.

My Travel Adventures : The Airport

This is me at the airport at six in the morning.

Mommy and Daddy woke me up at 4:30 a.m. to go and try to get a flight to CO.

While we waited, Daddy and I were trying to get a little shut-eye.

It might've been easier if the lady didn't call passengers to their gates quite so loudly.
I don't mind very much, though.
This is about the comfiest nap a little baby like me could hope for.

A bit more on my travel adventures later...

hello from my couch

I'm home again. Happy to be on my couch.

More on recent adventures coming soon...

(p.s. Thanks Uncle J. for being concerned about my 3 week absence. :)

New Phone Number

J. and C. are trying to set a record. In the last twelve months, we've had three different phone services and five phone numbers. Our last phone company, SunRocket, went bankrupt. They were a little too cheap.

We now have a new home phone number. Email us if you can't get ahold of us. Trust us, we're just as annoyed as you. We long for the day when technology allows us to communicate via telepathy. Until then . . .

Strollering in Iowa City

We're out for a stroll on the path that goes by some bridges
crossing the Iowa River. Will you come along?
If you come, we promise to show you the baby every now and then to keep you interested.
(Note: The wetness is only spilled water-bottle-wetness :).)

This is the path J. rides his bike to school on.

Here's the first bridge. It's the "Agreeable Light Bridge",
because they don't use florescent.
E. loves to go on walks.
Everything is so new, and exciting, and smile inducing.

Here's the "Paris Bridge", because there's a bridge over
the Seine that's exactly the same color. Really.
We're crossing, but we're going to do it happily.
Looking back at the Bridge of Agreeable Lighting.
Pretty little fountain at the end of the Paris Bridge.

J. decides to take a capital detour.
It's a sleepy -headed baby. Now were crossing back over on the Agreeable Light Bridge. Sorry the lights aren't on. You'll just have to trust me.
Looking back at the Paris Bridge and at nice ferry-boaters.
And nice ducks.
And nice a J., who consents to a picture! What a day!
And a nice threesome.
Thank you for joining us! To take this tour in person, please get in the car and drive to 213 Haywood Drive, Iowa City, Iowa.
