Elias has learned to connect several words with actions. Pictured right is his wave. Wave is his happy word. He waves at people who wave and smile at him, but he also waves at the computer screen for what appears to be no reason. He also waves at Paul and Judy, two characters in a children's book who on the last page wave to the reader. Elias is very friendly like that.He also seems to say "Cat," though whether he really connects the word to the animal is anyone's guess. He also enthusiastically said "Yeah!" today, imitating one of his parents.
He's known turn the page for awhile.
Most interesting is dance. He picked this up out of nowhere. Mommy and daddy don't listen to much pop/rock music (okay, almost none), but as soon as Elias heard Huey Lewis and the News for the first time, he started moving his little body back and forth to the beat. That was yesterday. Ever since he's immediately connected the word "dance" with that movement, and joyfully dances to music whenever we try to get him to.
