little boy in hat... and a little photo fun

Sorry it's been so long. I had a really sweet time in Colorado last week, but boy, did I miss my little boy! (Missed J. too, of course, who was the super-hero daddy, taking care of Elias five whole days so I could make the trip. What a great guy!)

Here's some recent pictures I had fun tweaking. It's fun to see what a few mouse clicks can do!

These People Make Me Happy

I love my grandma.

I love my grandpa. He's pretty funny.

On Labor Day my grandma and grandpa came to see me. Yes, me!
(Well, maybe they came a little bit to see Mommy and Daddy... just a little.)

Grandpa and Grandma really know how to play. I had so much fun!

Come again, please?

Our First Peak

Last Friday, J. and C. and Little E. went to the hospital to get C.'s first ultrasound. We were very excited to find out whether we were expecting a boy or girl. (Well, Little E. was mostly excited just to be going out - he lives to "go bye-bye".) Anyway, the ultrasound lady did a lot of looking and measuring and picture taking.

And, here's a picture of the baby!

Then she pronounced, It's a girl!

But without the exclamation point. She was a bit short on enthusiasm.

And then, she took a picture of the other one.

Yes, the other one. And she pronounced, It's a boy!!

(Still no exclamation. This sort-of amazing stuff must be a part of her daily routine. )

Then C. and J. fainted. Not really, but we were really shocked.

WE ARE HAVING TWINS!!!

Can you believe it? One Boy and One Girl.

Big Trip to See Nice People

The other week we traveled a 12 whole hours in the car to get to Colorado!
(Let's not do that again real soon, okay guys?)

When we finally got there, I walked and walked in my first pair of shoes...

...and avoided my car seat like nobody's business.

We hung out with these people a lot.

I learned a thing or two about playing with cars from this person.

And I got a bunch of squishes from this person.

And Mommy squished these little persons A WHOLE LOT. Sheesh!

While I was there, I got my first scraped knees.
Nana took care of me and gave me a band-aid. But actually, I took the band-aid right off.
Band-aids are for the birds.

Mommy also seemed real happy to see these people,
(who were awfully nice to me, for the record).

And on the way home, we got to see my Great-Grandma Doris and Great-Grandpa Rex, and my Great-Aunt Susan, who lives even farther away than Colorado - in Texas.

I'm not exactly sure I made a great impression,
but they smiled at me and said I was a nice boy anyway.

I do try.

My Own Little Chair

Elias recently claimed the smallest chair in our home as his own. He discovered that if he removed the cushion it became low enough for him to climb in and out.
He was pretty pleased about that.

Now it's his official reading chair.

He reads...

and reads...

and... notices we're taking pictures of him.

And then reads some more.

And has a good laugh.

Birthday Visit from Papa!

Papa accepted our invitation to come celebrate his birthday in Iowa!
Iowa is the absolute best place to have birthday parties.
It's a little known fact.

Elias lost no time getting Papa situated with a good book...or two...three...

e went to lunch at our very favorite lunch restaurant "126". Sorry there's no pictures of our dishes, but just picture the best steak sandwich ever with tomato bisque soup and a grilled veggie salad with goat cheese. Come right away, and we'll take you there, pronto!!!

It's Birthday Party Time!

Daddy and I.
(We're both pretty happy about having our all-time favorite birthday cake.)

Making a wish!

Good-bye, Papa! Come back real soon, alright! Please!!!

We love you!

Tuckered Out Traveler

Picture from one of the numerous car trips we made this past month.

We're so thankful to have had the flexibility to travel when necessity ( i.e. family) calls!

Time to Catch Up...

Wait... didn't you already turn one? Good thing it's never to late to celebrate!

Supremely happy Auntie.

Very blessed sisters, holding the sweetest little girls ever!!

These are Grandma and Grandpa's kittycats. They get on splendidly well with Elias, who learned to "Mow" (meow) with them while we were visiting.

Elias learned lots other tricks in Indiana, too. Like this Hurray, way up high!

And practiced counting "One" with grandma.

And practiced the piano.

... and general goofiness.
